Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent

Your Policing - Your View

As the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent I have a responsibility to ensure that all people who live, work and visit in the Gwent area have a police service that is efficient, effective and meets their needs. One of the main ways that I do this is discussing the police and crime priorities in consultation with the Chief Constable. I see these priorities as my commitment to you.

I regularly review the police and crime priorities to ensure they deliver what you need.
The current priorities in the Police and Crime Plan are:
  1. The people of Gwent are satisfied that the police provide a service which meets their requirements
  2. To prevent and reduce crime
  3. To take more effective action to tackle anti-social behaviour
  4. To protect people from serious harm
  5. To make the best use of resources and provide value for money

I think these priorities are important and want to know if they are still important to you and what emerging areas of police work you feel I should be considering in any future revisions of the Police and Crime Plan, which the Police are to deliver against and partners support through their plans.

There are a number of emerging themes at both the local force level  and nationally  which inform policing requirements to which both myself and the Chief Constable must have regard to. This is an opportunity for you to let us know if they are impacting on your communities and which emerging issues locally you would suggest I focus on and prioritise when revising the Police and Crime Plan.

I look forward to receiving your views on the Police and Crime Plan priorities and can assure you that all responses will be treated confidentially. This consultation will close 21st August 2015 .

Thank you for completing this short but important questionnaire.
